Third Floor:
- Main Hallway: The main hallway on the third floor has many comfortable leather chairs that are perfect for reading.
- The Mississippi Lounge: With one of the best views of the Mississippi River and Fountain Terrace, the Mississippi Lounge is a wonderful place to study. When not reserved, this location is open to all students.
Second Floor:
- The Commons Area between room 202 and 204: This area is off the middle of the main hallway. It has chairs and tables for students to use.
- The East and West Lounges: The second floor has two small study lounges in its back corners. These lounges overlook the First Floor and they have comfortable leather booths for students to study in.
- The Front and Back Hallways: There is plenty of seating and table space in the two main hallways on the second floor.
- Student Organization Offices: All of the student organizations listed allow for students to come in and use their offices while their members are present. They do ask that students are respectful of their facilities.
- Asian-American Student Union in room 219: This study location is open to all University of Minnesota students during ASU's office hours.
- Commuter Connection in room 236: This student group has study and social space available to all commuter students.
- Disabled Student Cultural Center in room 203: This study location is open to all students. Along with a general study space, this location also has two computers that can be used by students.
- Graduate and Professional Student Association in room 234: GAPSA has a lounge that is open to all Graduate School, Education and Human Development, Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Vet. Med, Medical School, Mortuary Science, Law, Carlson MBA and Medical Technology students. This space has couches, chairs, cable television, a computer, a microwave and a refrigerator that students are welcome to use during office hours.
- La Raza Student Cultural Center in room 211: La Raza is open to all students who need a study refuge. Its study space has three computers (one that is connected to the internet) and a printer that can be used during their office hours.
- Queer Student Cultural Center in room 205: The QSCC has study space and two computers that can be used by the public. The regular office hours during the academic year are 10am - 6pm Monday - Friday. The QSCC is a designated "safe space" for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allied students. All people who use this space are to be respected.
- Women's Student Activist Collective in room 202: All students are welcome to study in this location during office hours.
First Floor:
- Commuter Lounge: This lounge is located on the first floor on the east end of the building. It has six computer kiosks, a Star Tribune job search kiosk, a wall of all the Metro Transit bus schedules, a plasma TV, and a vending area with a microwave. This location also has an abundance of seating and table space.
- Commuter Quiet Study Lounge: This study area is located inside the Commuter Lounge. It is a secluded room for quiet study. It has desks that can be used by all students.
- The East and West Fireplace Lounges: These lounges are found to the left and right of the main entrance to the building. They contain comfortable leather couches and chairs and are great for quiet study or group projects. In the winter, these spaces are a great place to nap and lounge in the warmth of a fire.
- The Fountain Terrace: Located at the south end of Coffman, this is a great place to study outside during the spring, summer and early fall months. You can choose to sit on the edge of the Pietro Tacca fountain or on one of the terrace's many tables or benches. If music helps you study, the fountain terrace has the added bonus of an occasional noon concert.
Ground Floor:
- The Ground Floor Main Study Area: This study area is located on the ground floor behind the escalator. It has a plethora of chairs, tables and couches. This area is perfect for group study or for getting a snack while you study.
- The UDS Cafeteria: This area is located at the back of the Minnesota Marketplace. It has plenty of tables and chairs.
- The Cube: This sunny study location is located at the west end of the ground floor. Starbucks, the Post Office, and the Gopher Express convenience store are close by for your studying convenience. It has both table study space and comfortable couch study space. This area has outdoor seating during the warmer months. If you enjoy music while you study, the Cube offers noon concerts.
Basement:
- Goldy's Gameroom: Need a place to study that won't bore you to death? Try Goldy's, they have music, snacks and plenty of fun. Their bar and tables make great places for studying.
- Computer Lab: If you have homework that needs to be printed out or completed on a computer, the computer lab will be perfect for your study needs. They have Macs and IBMs, along with tables and couches.
- The Whole: When it is not being used for concerts, this area is open to the public for study space. There are a lot of tables, which makes it perfect for your personal or group study needs.
- The seating outside of Goldy's and around the escalator: This study location has chairs and couches that can be used for studying.
