Hey music peoples! Hope that you had a good fall semester and introduction to winter. While it's been getting colder outside, the Whole has been getting warmer: dare I say hotter? Phase one of our renovations is almost complete. In the past few months, we've added carpeting, comfy couches, better lighting, some stage curtains, paint on the walls, and some old-school Whole posters. This upcoming semester, look for even more improvements. We are planning on a gigantic mural in the hallway outside the entrance to the Whole, as well as professional acoustic treatments and more, fancier lighting to the Whole itself. Be sure to email me from the "Contact Us" page if you have some suggestions for what you would like to see in the Whole. Meanwhile, we've also made some recent additions to the "Past Shows" area of the website. Check out how limber the guy from the Poison Control Center is. Marvel at the vocal stylings of 7Days. Open your mouths and say "wow" at this amazing human beatbox challenge at a Voices Merging open mic night recently. Be sure to check out some photos, too. The Whole is also pleased to help out Minnesota Film Arts for an exciting New Year's Eve show. We are providing sound reinforcement for bands that are performing live soundtracks to silent movies. Come check out Dosh and Speghetti Western and say 'hi' to us. We'll be hanging out in back by the soundboard. The Whole is looking for student artists who are interested in performing Wednesday night shows this upcoming semester. We are looking for dancers, musicians, video artists, actors, comedians, and small acoustic groups to play our Bits Variety Shows. We'll pay you and make you a star for a night. Check out the "Past Shows" pages for flicks of past Bits shows. If you are interested in performing, send me an email from the "Contact Us" page. Matt and Kayla and the Whole Music Club have some great shows lined up for the Spring semester, too, so keep your ear close to the ground for those. We are talking about serious local hip hop and fantastic national tours. More later about these. Have a great break! -dh
