6/30/2007Summerfest(ivities)
Well kids, Summerfest is in full swing in Milwaukee. Opening day was pretty close to perfection. It looked like rain for part of the day, but there wasn't a drop in the sky. Say Anything canceled their set, but my friends and I couldn't resist the admission rate of three canned-food items nor could we resist Jack's Mannequin. I admit that I knew nothing of their set or fan-base before going; I simply knew the music. I was more excited to just go to Summerfest...I was in for a huge surprise. My friends and I camped out in our front-row-center spots from Noon until Jack's Mannequin (beginning around 11 pm). Sitting at...
6/29/2007Local Hood
So, call me behind the times, but I just now discovered the awesome mash-up website that is The Hood Internet. As it turns out, they have some cool mashups with some Minnesota artists. Check it:
T-Pain vs. Cloud Cult
Atmosphere vs. Of Montreal
Four Tet vs. Slug and Murs
and sure, why not Three 6 Mafia vs. The Hold Steady?
Wicked Awesome.

So, the FOG website says that their new album, Ditherer, doesn't come out until August 14th. This is a major bummer. However, you can check out this awesome teaser video made by the legendary Chuck Statler. I can't wait until August.
Also, somebody has posted a video of FOG performing "Your Beef Is Mine" at the Whole last Spring. Awesome.
6/23/2007Summerfest
It's that time of year; the time with summer music festivals. Cochella and Bonaroo have come and past; Pitchfork, Lollapalooza, Reading and Leeds are all to come. One that not some may not know of is Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI. With non-stop music, comedy, family activities and more from Noon-Midnight, how can one not want to go?
This year marks the 40th Anniversary of this 11 day music extravaganza. This year's line up is killer! June 28th kicks off the festivities with acts including The Violent Femmes, Say Anything, Jack's Mannequin, Steely Dan, Wolfmother, and REO Speedwagon. I truly have conflicts in deciding which stages to go to on Thursday. On other days...
