7/17/2007Vive La Blogotheque

La Blogotheque, a Paris-based film crew, has been shooting some of our favorite acts performing in a few interesting places. These "Take Away Shows" can happen anywhere, keeping the French on their toes. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Kirk, and this video will tell you why. The personnel on this is incredible, too: McCoy Tyner - piano, Stanley Clarke - bass, Lenny White - drums. It doesn't get any better.

7/6/2007Mountain of Everest

Last week, I went to the CD release show of our very own Making Music host, JG Everest. He and his sister Mary (who also was releasing her long-awaited disk "Little Things" that night) played selections from the two disks for over an hour on a Bryant Lake Bowl stage crowded with musicians and friends. I've been listening to both of those CDs all week, and I highly suggest visiting your local music store and picking them up.
