Hi folks. Good and bad news today. Which do you want first? OK, bad news first. The Making Music: Dan Wilson event has been postponed to a later date. Silly Australian tours getting in the way.
The good news is that we were able to secure Chris Koza for the November 20th episode of Making Music. We've been Koza fans for a while now and his latest album, "The Dark, Delirious Morning" features a veritable whos-who of local musicians. Stop by the Whole for that event and get an earful of this talented young songwriter.

10/21/2008Culture Bully blogs A LOT
For a good cause of course!
Local blog Culture Bully has been posting exclusive content at least once an hour, every hour for 60 HOURS! According to my calculations, they are nearing the halfway point of this campaign to support music development and literacy within local Twin Cities schools. So far, my favorite entries are the new Roma Di Luna track "Never Surrender to Silence" and Lucy Michelle's stories from jazz band class. What about you? Enjoy the entries and donate!

(2008-10-16) Making Music featuring: Brother Ali [View Show]
Not only was Brother Ali's Making Music performance written up in last week's City Pages, the show also got its own slideshow! Woo! They did manage to confuse our series name (Making Music not Music Making), but no one is perfect. For those of you who didn't attend the show, it was a really amazing night. Jake Spencer from The Wake wrote, “Brother Ali’s music comes from deep introspection and baring of the rapper’s soul, and in talking so intimately about his life last night, we got an excellent sense of who Brother Ali is and why he writes the way he does. This was one of the...
10/9/2008Brother Ali Tix Gone
Well, that was quick. After a couple days, we've reached our limit. For those of you who were quick on the click, congrats! We’ll send out confirmations soon.
For those that didn’t get a chance to request a ticket, well, Yipes. There’s a chance that we’ll have some extra tickets the night of the event. If people that requested tickets don’t show up by 8pm, we’re giving their tickets away to those that are actually there. We can’t guarantee that you will get in if you show up, but if it’s really important for you, you can give it a shot and get in line.
