3/31/2009Making Music: Dan Wilson Tickets

So, coming up on April 30th, Dan Wilson will be joining us for a Making Music interview. We are super-excited about having him here. We thought he was going to be here last semester, but something about touring Australia got in the way. Oh well.

In any case, tickets can be reserved for the event starting tomorrow at noon. Just stop by the Making Music page and there will be a link to fill out a short form to reserve a ticket. You can only reserve a ticket for yourself, so if you want to bring a friend, be sure that they fill out a separate form.

Respect.

3/10/2009Cool News from Radio K

So, the RadioK press release says: "Effective at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, Radio K will broadcast at 104.5 FM in Minneapolis. . . Radio K will broadcast live on March 18, 19, 20 from the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas."

Two things: the new 104.5 FM Minneapolis station sounds AMAZING. That signal has come a long way since it was a mono AM signal. AM is still nostalgic, but a nice stereo FM signal is awesome.
And, SXSW! RadioK is broadcasting live from Austin. That means that you really are going to hear the best new music right from RadioK. Good job ya'll! We love you!

3/3/2009Making Music at the Walker

So, this Thursday, we are busting out of this place and partnering with the Walker Art Center in presenting Making Music featuring Dave Longstreth of the Dirty Projectors. It's sort of a new experience for us - getting out of the basement and all. Anyways, it's just like a normal Making Music show, only it's at the McGuire Theater and it starts at 7pm. Still Free. Still Awesome. Still the only live music interview show in the Twin Cities.

Not in the mood for going out? Belt your 80s out at the Whole!
