1/25/2006Hip Hop Whole

So, it turns out that the Twin Cities is home to some of the best hip hop musicians on the planet. This semester, we are taking a big bite out of the scene. The Doomtree collective is showing up on February 11th. The last time they were here, POS got his mug pasted on the front of the City Pages as being the second coming. The next huge news is that Brother Ali and Heiruspecs will be in Coffman at the Great Hall on February 24th. The last time Heiruspecs was here, we had to turn away a lot of people at the door, so this time, we'll be able to pack in hundreds more. As Brother Ali says, "The Rhymesayers don't do shows, we throw parties." This is the show that you will be telling your grandkids about. So, if that wasn't enough, Making Music is piling on. April 13th, Steph (POS / Doomtree) is coming to the Whole to do an interview. We are going to get the pure, unadulterated version straight from the source. Two weeks later, Sean McPherson (aka Twinkie Jiggles of Heiruspecs) will be here to talk to us about what it's like to be a bass-playing god while maintaining a course load at the UofM. Making Music is always free and all-ages. You heard it here first. Word.
