Theme: Making Music

Morton Subotnick is one of the pioneers in the development of electronic music and an innovator in works involving instruments and other media, including interactive computer music systems. Most of his music calls for a computer part, or live electronic processing; his oeuvre utilizes many of the important technological breakthroughs in the history of the genre.
This Spring, The Whole Music Club presents the fifth season of Making Music, a series that features long-format discussions with talented musicians about their art. Local musician JG Everest (Lateduster, Vicious Vicious) hosts the show, which includes interviews, live demonstrations, videos, exclusive and unreleased tracks, prizes, and Q+A from the audience.

"Sadly, one of our honored guests, Richard Devine, has become suddenly ill and could not attend. The Spark Festival is nothing if not versatile, and we have replaced Devine's scheduled events with a series of exciting talks and concerts..."
So, we are bummed that Devine is not going to be able to attend Making Music this Thursday. However, we wish him a quick and speedy recovery and hope to see him next year!
In Devine's absence, Morton Subotnick (the Spark Festival's "academic" guest) has agreed to come and do a Making Music interview on Thursday evening. Mr. Subotnick is an absolute pioneer in the world of electronic music, and he's got plenty of stories to tell. Please come on by for this rare chance to hear him speak this Thursday at 7pm.
