MUte ErA CD Release with Blind Shake, Thank You, Birthday Suits and MC/VL
Friday, March 28, 2008

"Mute Era is guitarist/singer Sho Nikaido and his wife Jessica, who plays drums. But its nearly impossible to express in words how much of an understatement that is: Mute Era is so much more than the sum of its parts. When Sho plays guitar, you don't just hear the guitar or the chord. You can hear every string vibrating, each note distinct and clear, each with its own purpose, deliberate and elemental. Similarly, Jessica's drumming seems to channel the innermost rhythms of the human body or perhaps of the universe itself, the sound of neutrons and protons rotating around atoms, of water falling over rocks. The vocals, which Sho has told me are usually created spontaneously during live performances, may or may not be made up of words and may or may not be in Japanese. I call it "the universal language of rock," a language ancient and divine that isn't just heard but felt." - GREG PRITCHARD, Paper Thin Walls review
Join MUte ErA for their releases of "Night Dreams of Day" and "Night Dreams of Darkness," all recorded by themselves on 8-track.
