Making Music: Eric Fratzke
Thursday, September 18, 2008
Theme: Making Music

While serving as the bassist for Minneapolis-based avant-jazz trio Happy Apple , Erik Fratzke also explores the doom and grandeur of heavy metal with his band Zebulon Pike . Formed in 2002, the hyper-complex and dense Zebulon Pike releases their third full-length album on September 13, entitled "Intranscience" . Tonight on Making Music, discover how Erik Fratzke balances his interest in jazz, obscure 20th century composers, and progressive metal as a bassist and guitarist, jazz man and metal god.
Reserved tickets available online at noon 9.2.08.
9/16/2008Erik Fratzke - Happy Apple
So, we are super excited to get the Fall 2008 Making Music series kicked off this Thursday. Erik Fratzke is a brilliant guitar and bass player and I've had the opportunity to talk with him a number of times about music. He's got a deep wealth of fretboard knowledge that I hope he'll share.
The good news is that he'll be joined on stage by his Happy Apple band mates, Dave King and Mike Lewis. Dave King is no stranger to these parts. He was our very first Making Music guest back in February 2005. The audio clips from that show are hilarious. Mike Lewis is always on our short list to be on Making Music as well. (Keep your ears close to the ground for that one...)
Tickets are still available for this show, but are going quickly.
