Co-Sponsorships
Thank you for your interest in co-sponsoring a program with the Whole Music Club. The Whole Music Club and the Twin Cities Student Unions seek to work in partnership with other entities to provide activities and events at the Whole for University of Minnesota students and the University community.
Guidelines
The Whole Music Club is funded by student fee dollars and revenue generated by the Twin Cities Student Unions, thus any commitment of funds is subject to departmental and University guidelines. General guidelines include, but are not limited to the following:
- University of Minnesota students must be the primary beneficiaries of events funded or partially funded by the Whole Music Club. Your event must be open to the general public and will be listed on the WMC events calendar.
- The Whole Music Club expects to play a limited role in the planning, the decision -making process and implementation of your event. Funds contributed by the Whole Music Club are typically used to cover the costs of security required for your event to occur.
- Any revenue from the event will be equally shared between the Whole Music Club and the event sponsor until the WMC's expenses are covered.
- The Whole Music Club name and/or logo must be used on all promotional materials used to promote the event. All promotional materials must be approved by the Whole Music Club prior to their distribution. Failure to obtain prior approval will result in the withdrawl of sponsorship funds.
- The TCSU Marketing/Design department enclosed a 'request form' that you should submit if you are interested in obtaining their services as part of your co-sponsorship. Please use the sheet that corresponds to the time of your submission.
Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on criteria determined by the WMC. The criteria includes, but is not limited to:
- Timeliness of submission
- Space availability within the WMC programming calendar
- Campus community interest
- Proposed student attendance
- Impact on student unions traffic and campus community
- Availability of WMC resources
- No major calendar conflicts (campus and community)
- Event is not linked to fundraising for a charitable organization
Application Review
To maximize the success of the proposed event, you are encouraged to submit applications at least 2-3 months prior to the proposed date of the event. Generally, applications for events that require security require more planning time than those events that don't. Depending on the complexity of the event and resources required, exceptions may be made. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and you can expect a response within 5 business days of receipt of a completed application.
Student groups: complete applications must include contact information for your advisor. If your organization does not have an advisor, contact the Student Activities Office for assistance.
