Five Year Anniversary

Slug and JG Everest at Making Music

This year, the Whole Music Club celebrates the fifth anniversary of Making Music, a series that features long-format discussions with talented musicians about their art. Local musician JG Everest hosts the show, which includes interviews, unique performances, exclusive and unreleased tracks, videos and Q&A from the audience. Video and photo archives of past Making Music guests, including Andrew Bird, Slug, Stef Alexander (POS), Alan Sparhawk (Low), Dessa, Richard Devine and more can be seen on our Whole Music Club YouTube channel and our Flickr page. This series is co-sponsored by Radio K and The Onion.

Tickets are free for all ages. Seating is limited, please arrive early.

Making Music proudly features:

Roma di Luna

Thursday, September 17 at 8pm. Free for all ages.

Roma Di Luna

Husband and wife duo Alexei and Channy Moon Caselle began Roma di Luna (External Link.) out of admiration for the old, soulful, and honest manner of Americana folk music. Since, the group has grown to a full band, and released two full-length albums and two EPs, including their most recent release, "Casting the Bones," in 2008. It’s a delight to see this duo play live, and this installment of Making Music with Alexei and Channy will be equally as delightful.

Erik Funk (Dillinger Four)

Thursday, November 5th at 8pm. Free for all ages.

Erik Funk

Erik Funk has left an indelible mark on the Twin Cities music scene. First as the guitarist for the legendary punk band Dillinger Four (External Link.), Funk now co-owns The Triple Rock Social Club (External Link.), a music venue for those seeking cold beer and good conversation. In only a couple short hours, Funk will talk about the beginnings of D4 and their most recent release "Civil War" on Fat Wreck Chords, in addition to what he's got cooking across campus at the Triple Rock.

Aaron "Lazerbeak" Mader (Doomtree, Plastic Constellations)

Thursday, November 19th at 8pm. Free for all ages.

Aaron Mader

Aaron "Lazerbeak" Mader is everywhere. Known in the Doomtree (External Link.) crew as the "Super Producer," Lazerbeak keeps busy with a lengthy list of projects, including putting the finishing touches on Dessa and Sims's new releases, getting his own solo project out there, working on the annual Doomtree blowout, and reuniting with The Plastic Constellations (External Link.) for a show -- all by January. He'll take a break and join us for our final Making Music installment of the fall semester.
